For this blog post, I read the article “Turns of Thought” by Donna Qualley. I had to answer the following question, what is your understanding of being a reflective and reflexive researcher?

Looking back at your own work and analyzing is the way to learn and understand something.

Reflection is the process of looking at your work and reflecting on how you feel about it. When reflecting on our work, we are thinking about how we feel about the piece. Reflection is very important because being able to look back at your work and seeing that changes may need to be made and how to make it better.

Being a reflexive researcher means you are able to go back and think about what others have told you, thinking outside of the box. Qualley talks about the differences of being a reflective and reflexive learner. Reflective researchers spend a large amount of time thinking about their assignment. Reflexive researchers spend time thinking about what others have said.
